| Bowood Park Golf Course Bowood Park is a beautiful, rolling parkland course, set in an ancient deer park that was once owned by the Black Prince. The drainage is superb - you'll never see a temporary green at Bowood Park! The course starts gently with a very playable par 4 and a pretty easy par 3 from an elevated tee. Things get a tad more difficult at the par 5 third, and the fourth and fifth require your full attention. The sixth is a straightforward par 3 - reachable with a mid-iron for most golfers. And then things get REALLY serious - the monster par 5 seventh measures 645 Yards from the back tee! The eighth and ninth - two nice par fours - bring you back to the clubhouse where you can enjoy a welcome snack before tackling the stunningly picturesque - but somewhat tougher - second half of the course. The 19th is a relaxed and friendly place, and the hotel and restaurant are first class. Practice facilities include a covered driving-range, a putting green, a chipping/pitching area, and a practice-bunker. The Hotel is comfortable, the food is excellent and the welcome is warm and informal. If you plan to play society or holiday golf in Cornwall - Bowood Park is an absolute must visit! |
