Act On CO2 - The Top 10 Ways To Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

A substantial portion of our carbon footprint is caused by the way we choose to travel. Aircraft use huge amounts of fuel - and each time we fly we increase our carbon footprint. We could "easily" reduce this by walking and/or swimming instead of flying!
A jumbo jet takes 8 hours to fly from Europe to America. You could swim the same distance in "just" four years! (Add two extra years if you plan to take your golf clubs!)
A flight from Manchester in England to Malaga in Spain takes less than 3 hours - The average family could walk the same distance in around 11 months!
Let's face it folks - we live in the jet age. Flying is one of the greatest benefits of the modern era. And we are not about to give it up! Reducing your carbon footprint is not about abandoning technology and returning to some miserable medieval era. Reducing your carbon footprint is about using technology more responsibly. Most airlines now have "Carbon Friendly" policies - but some are more genuine than others. It is not enough to simply add a few dollars to your fare to "Offset" carbon emissions. Carbon offsetting, the way it exists at the moment, is a total cop-out! It's like committing a crime and paying somebody else to serve your sentence! It is our duty as passengers to fly only with genuinely responsible airlines.
