Every km that your food travels adds to YOUR carbon footprint! Transporting produce is a major cause of CO2 emissions.
But much of this is avoidable - You can reduce the harm that YOU cause by purchasing local produce.
Visit a farmer's market, or look for your local regional produce at the supermarket.
If your supermarket doesn't sell local produce - ASK THEM WHY!
You'll be surprised at how much food your local area produces.
Fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, cheese and other dairy products, etc etc etc.
Eat locally produced food just once a week, and you can save 2,200 kg CO2 a year!

Also - eating in a busy restaurant is a good idea! If the restaurant is crowded, the food must be good!
Try to choose a restaurant that uses local produce - that way you'll double-up on your CO2 saving!
