Launceston Golf Club is one of my favourite places to play golf in
Cornwall - here's why...

This is a members club where the emphasis is on great golf, fine food and a
friendly atmosphere. It doesn't feel commercial here, it feels like a good,
old-fashion golf club.

The course itself is set in lovely, mature parkland, in the highest part of
Cornwall. It offers spectacular views over Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor, the historic
town of Launceston and its ancient castle.

It provides a good test of golfing skill, without trying to destroy your confidence.
It's what I'd call a "players course". Unlike so many courses, Launceston is not
awash with water hazards - it's more subtle than that. There is plenty of trouble
here, but it's the kind of trouble that you can play your way out of.

If you stray off line, you'll find groups of mature trees, tricky rough, steep banks
etc - but at least you're still in play. This is so much more enjoyable than simply
dropping yet another ball behind yet another "picturesque" pond!

The 19th is comfortable and welcoming, and the food here is excellent.
Visiting golfers are made very welcome here, and
Launceston is an ideal choice for small societies.
