Apart from a few weeks in the peak holiday season, the roads here
are deserted. And even at the busiest times (Fridays and Saturdays -
when the tourists arrive and leave) most of the traffic is confined to
the A30 and the A39. I drive 20 miles to my office every morning
(during the "rush" hour) and I very rarely see more than half a dozen
cars throughout the entire journey!
