The Slimming World Diet
Slimming World is primarily a weight loss club - where members attend weekly meetings for advice and support.
At each meeting, members share their experiences, discuss their weight losses or gains, and share ideas and strategies for the week ahead,
Members are encouraged to cut down on high-fat foods and to eat more low-fat foods - "Food Optimising".
'Free Foods' such as fruit, vegetables, pasta, potatoes, rice, lean meat, fish and eggs, can be eaten in unlimited amounts.
There’s no calorie counting, no foods are totally banned and you are allowed the occasional treat.
You get a lot of support from your group leader and from fellow members at the weekly group-session meetings.
There is a lot of caring and sharing during the meetings, which works very well for most members (unless you are terribly shy).
Members are weighed at each meeting, and their weight change is shared with the group, however...
Each member's actual weight is confidential, and is not revealed to the group.
Members are encouraged to follow an exercise plan to become gradually more active.
The Plan can be done online, but we feel that the main reason for Slimming World's success is the group meetings.
