| The Top Ten 10 Cylinder Vacuum Cleaners |
| Some people prefer cylinder vacuum cleaners because they are easier to carry upstairs or they are easier to use in the car. In 1912-15 Axel Wenner-Gren from Sweden collaborated with Lux to produce the first cylinder vacuum cleaner the "Lux 1" (later they became "Electrolux)". Cylinder vacuum cleaners only became popular in the 1980's, a relatively short while ago. Upright vacuum cleaners were first, then the Cylinder vacuum cleaners came after canister vacuum cleaners which are bigger and are generally on coasters. Cylinder vacuum cleaners are the smaller of the three, they have more tools on board and always have a retractable cord. They generally involve pure suction and often don't have rolling brushes but they do have variable suction control. If you want compact and light, you would prefer a cylinder vacuum cleaner.
