Ellmau is part of the Ski Welt, the largest linked ski-area in Austria.
This charming little village is ideal for a family skiing holiday - offering an excellent range of intermediate runs, many of which are easier than they look - so are quite flattering. There are wide blue slopes for beginners - and nursery slopes in the centre of the village. Ellmau is part of the Ski Welt, the largest linked ski-area in Austria.
Access to the village is pretty good - (around an hour and a half drive/transfer from Salzburg or Innsbruck airports. And for families with young children there are childcare facilities and kid's clubs in the resort - with a full program of well-organised activities to keep the little ones busy and happy.
The scenery here is stunning, and the village is pretty, quaint and friendly.
The snow record is good, and prices are very reasonable for an Austrian ski resort of this standard.
