Top Ten 10 Best Golf Courses In Cornwall
Newquay Golf Club
Newquay Golf Club is one of Cornwall's finest attractions.

The scenery here is utterly spectacular - it will take your breath away!

Set on a stunning peninsular, Newquay Golf Club is golfing heaven - at least that's the
case on a calm, sunny day!

But when the wind gets up, and the rain comes in sideways from the Atlantic Ocean -
and it happens quite often here - you won't have time to enjoy the scenery - you'll be
struggling to keep yourself in play - or searching for your latest lost golf ball!

Terrain =  Seaside. Lots of undulations. Very beautiful views.
Some very deep bunkers. Some blind shots. Mostly easy walking.

Difficulty = A tough test when the wind blows. But this is not a long course, so on a
calm day you can post a decent score here. A course where you really must hit the
fairways - the rough here can be punishing!

Condition = Well tended. Excellent, undulating, fast links-greens.
Sandy soil drains quickly - so fairways are near-perfect all year round.
Possibly the best choice in Cornwall during prolonged periods of rain.

Recommended for:
Golfers of all standards. Newquay is a fair test of golf - but when the wind blows it can
become very tough indeed. Pray for calm weather!

Green Fees 2013 = Very reasonable. Worth it for the views alone!

Societies are welcome - and in winter, when Cornwall's inland courses can get boggy
- Newquay is probably the wisest choice for societies.

Clubhouse
Big, modern, art deco building. Secure parking and locker-rooms. Fabulous bar food.
But drinks are not exactly cheap here. Make friends with a member (not difficult
because they are a VERY friendly bunch) and he/she can use their discount card to
buy your drinks at a subsidised rate!
