Launceston Guide
Launceston (pronounced Lansen) is often overlooked as a holiday town - but it shouldn't be.
Launceston is ideal for visitors who want to enjoy Cornwall's countryside - away from the crowded coast.
Launceston - often referred to as "The Gateway To Cornwall" makes an ideal base to explore East Cornwall - including the North and South Coasts.
It is also a great place to chill out and to avoid the summer crowds. Prices are lower here - and the hotels, shops and restaurants are less busy.
It is well known if you live in Cornwall - that the way to escape the crowds is to drive inland - and nowhere is better for this than Launceston.
