St Austell itself is a fairly unattractive town which, apart from some very good shopping, has little to recommend it. However, St Austell is surrounded by some glorious countryside - and some stupendous beaches. It also has an interesting history - this is where the world's finest china clay comes from.
St Austell Bay has many lovely fishing villages and coves - Don't miss Mevagissey and Goran Haven! And St Austell is home to The Eden Project. St Austell also has more facilities for holiday-makers than just about anywhere else in Cornwall. An excellent choice for a family holiday.
