Les Deux Alpes is a vast ski area, the second oldest in France after Chamonix.
Les Deux Alpes offers great conditions for all levels, snow-sure slopes and the largest skiable glacier in Europe. There is some excellent accommodation in Les Deux Alpes Les Deux Alpes sit at a height of 1,650m, and consists of a huge ski area encompassing 76 runs over 220km of piste, with 8 runs on the glacier itself.
Its modern and efficient lift service provides 63 lifts, including a gondola, and a funicular railway.
Even if you don't ski - the railway is worth the trip - just for the views! Unusually, some of the beginner slopes in are located high up on the glacier, enabling novices to ski at altitudes and enjoy views that are usually reserved for experts! Most of the runs here are rated as intermediate, with skiing taking place at 2,100m - 2,600m respectively.
Les Deux Alpes is also extremely popular with snowboarders, with one of the most extensive and sophisticated snowparks in Europe. The charming village of La Grave, recommended for advanced skiers, is linked to Les Deux Alpes, and nearby resorts include Alpe d'Huez, Montgeneve and Serre Chevalier.
