THE BIDEFORD EFFECT Bideford is my favourite town in the whole of Devon! But I can't explain why! Bideford is a lovely resort - but it's no match for, say, Ilfracombe. Bideford is a fine market town - but it can't hold a candle to Barnstaple. And in terms of prettiness, Bideford is easily outshone by Clovelly. Yet if I had to recommend just one town for you to visit - it would be Bideford every time! There's a strange kind of energy in Bideford - a buzz that makes you feel good to be alive! I don't know what causes it - but I feel it every time I come here - and I call it The Bideford Effect. You have to experience The Bideford Effect for yourself to understand what I'm talking about. But if you are in North Devon, you should spend a day in Bideford - and feel your spirits rise! Nearby and worth a visit! Lundy Island If the weather is nice - catch the MS Oldenburg from Bideford Quay and visit Lundy. East The Water Bideford's ancient suburb - now a village in its own right. |
