Woolacombe is known around the world for its superb surf.
Left and right breaks, all year round and at all states of the tide.
Ask any wised-up surf-dude to name Britain's best breaks - and Woolacombe will be among
them.
Woolacombe is also a great place to learn to surf - with several first rate surf-schools.
But Woolacombe is far more than just a surfer's paradise.

Woolacombe is a wonderful family resort too.
The three mile stretch of golden sand - backed by dunes and low cliffs - is an absolute joy!
Award-winning clean, good toilet facilities, first aid station, and even a lost children service.
The beach is patrolled by lifeguards throughout the summer season - so it is very safe here.
And, although it's unlikely, if you fancy a change - there are other beaches and coves nearby.

Woolacombe village is a friendly place with excellent pubs, restaurants and shops.
And Woolacombe offers a wide variety of places to stay.
From 3 Star hotels to cosy guest houses, from luxury cottages to rustic campsites -
Woolacombe has accommodation to suit all tastes and all budgets.

Nearby and worth a visit!

Putsborough
(At the southern end of Woolacombe Sands) is another award winning beach with lifeguards.
Good surf, safe swimming and water sports. Toilets and snack bar.

Barricane Beach
(Just north of Woolacombe Sands) A Small cove with rock pools amongst the flat rocks.

Lee Bay
A pretty village in the Fushia Valley. The beach here is wonderful, with nice rock pools and a
good stretch of sand. Unfortunately, the entire beach is covered at high tide. Take care!

Mortehoe & Rockham Bay
Mortehoe is a picturesque village at the northern end of Woolacombe Sands.
There is a footpath (quite steep) from the village to Rockham Bay - well worth a visit!
